We Can Guide You Through This.
Family stress can be overwhelming. And watching your family break apart can be even more heartbreaking and emotional. On top of that are family laws that can be confusing and act as roadblocks to those unfamiliar with their nuances.
But with a good family law attorney, the process of moving beyond the stress, to a better physical and emotional space, can go by much smoother. At Ratzer|Dobis, you will be able to develop a quality relationship with your family law lawyer. We will work with you personally to explain each step of the process, and work to negotiate the best possible outcome for your specific situation.
Make Your Life Better.
Our number one goal at Ratzer|Dobis is to make your life — and your children’s lives — better. We focus our practice on family law and keep abreast of what’s current in the law and relevant to your situation — we are actively involved in the local and State Bar of California and routinely serve as presenters at continuing legal education panels on cutting-edge family law issues that are important to our clients. Jim is a regular speaker at events sponsored by The San Diego Family Law Bar Association and North County Certified Family Law Specialists Bar Association. Jim is a past President of the North County Certified Family Law Specialists Bar Association.
Your success is our reward. We understand that the key to helping you through a difficult legal matter is not only our sound legal judgment and good reputation in the legal community, but keeping your costs down so you can emerge from this situation in stable financial condition. The most expensive part of any divorce case is going to court — and we can help you keep that cost down by working amicably with the opposing attorney, knowing how a judicial officer is likely to rule and not going to court over disagreements that aren’t worth your time or money.
In Solana Beach and San Diego County, Ratzer|Dobis is your best choice for experienced representation with personalized service. Contact us online or call (858) 793-7700 today.
At the Law Office of Meredith G. Lewis, we help you create a resolution that is unique to your family. We guide you through the process with our expert knowledge and compassion.
In our practice we focus on Mediation and Collaborative Divorce, where you are 100% included in every aspect of your case. Everyone at our firm knows that managing family issues is difficult and we recognize that our clients are likely to experience anxiety and fear of the unknown. Attorneys are available to speak with our clients directly and are honest when we provide a legal opinion. We work hard to explain the legal process in order to demystify a client's case.
We also recognize that clients have different values and priorities, and that each case is different. Our firm prides itself on listening to each client's concerns, evaluating their needs and then suggesting an optimal course of action within the parameters of the law. Our goal is to obtain the result you want by using the most efficient and effective legal means.
Our firm believes the best approach to solving family law issues is through different methods of Alternate Dispute Resolution, such as Mediation, Negotiation or by using the Collaborative Approach. Family law is unique in that people on opposite sides of a case often have to forge an on-going relationship for years after their case has ended. Clients who have children do not have the luxury of not seeing their former spouse again. The various methods of Alternate Dispute Resolution are usually more cost effective than litigation and help preserve family relationships. The majority of our cases are settled outside of court. If a case unfortunately does fall out of Mediation or Negotiation, our team is there to advocate for a client in court.
Given the legal and emotional complexity of family law issues, most people realize that the best course of action is for them to choose to consult with an experienced and knowledgeable family law attorney to advise them and advocate on their behalf. This assures them all legal options are explored and understood, and allows people to focus on their emotional healing without having to be concerned with all of the technicalities involved in their legal matter.
Our attorneys are dedicated to providing personal, responsive legal services to families and businesses throughout Southern California. We are, above all else, results-oriented. Client satisfaction is our top priority. We have offices in Solana Beach and Pacific Beach, and we also offer face-to-face virtual consultations with our exceptional attorneys using video conference technologies such as FaceTime, Duo, or Zoom.
